隋开皇十六年（596年）置，属鄫州（1）。治今苍山县苍山县西北鄫城后（2）。大业三年（607年）废（3）。


注：
（1）《太平寰宇记》卷23《河南道二十三》：沂州承县，“故鄫城，在东八十里。……汉为缯县，属东海郡，晋属琅邪国。隋开皇十六年，分承立鄫城县，属鄫州，大业省入兰陵县。”（金陵书局，光绪八年刊本，5册，12页）
（2）据上引《太平寰宇记》载，汉缯县在承县东八十里，于东晋废后，至隋开皇十六年改置鄫城县，其址即汉缯县址，故《续山东考古录》卷19《兖州府下·峄县》王汝涛点注：鄫城县，治汉缯故城，“遗址在今苍山县向城乡鄫城村。”（济南市，山东文艺出版社，1997年，516、522页）即今苍山县西北鄫城后（《山东省地图集》，83页）
（3）上引《太平寰宇记》云“大业省（鄫城县）入兰陵县”，《隋书》卷31《地理志下》：兰陵县，“大业初（鄫）州废，又并兰陵、鄫城二县入焉。”（北京，中华书局，1973年，3册，870页）所云“大业初”，即指大业三年。 ]]>
