北宋元祐二年（1087年）复置。⑴治所即今河北永年县驻地临洺关镇。⑵次年复废。

⑵嘉庆《清一统志》卷32《广平府二》：“临洺故城在永年县西十五里。……随开皇六年，改为邯郸。十年移邯郸县，理涉乡县，在今邯郸县界，仍于北中府城别置临洺县，以北滨洺水为名。《宋史·地理志》：熙宁六年省临洺县为镇，入永年。元祐二年复为县，寻复为镇。《府志》：今为临洺关。”（第11册，第1页）
