明洪武二年（1369年）十月，以直隶州降为散州，改属柳州府（1）。治所即今广西融水县（2）。洪武十年（1377年）五月降为县（3）。

注：
（1）《明史》卷45·地理6·柳州府融县：“元融州，直隶广西两江道。洪武二年十月，以州治融水县省入，来属。十年五月降为县。”（中华书局，1974年，4册，1155页）。
（2）《嘉庆一统志》卷463·柳州府·古迹·融水废县：“在融县西南，齐置齐熙县，兼置齐熙郡治此，隋改县为义熙，唐复改为融水，为融州治，明初省入融州…。旧志，县东临融水，西近香山，南达真仙岩，北倚云际山。唐始筑州城，宋大观初，砌外城，周九里。元至正中毁，缩入南城修筑，即今治。”（《四部丛刊续编》，商务印书馆，1934年，173册）。清融县即今广西融水县。作同今融水县处理。
