唐武德四年（621年）置，属龙州（1）。治所在今广西柳城县南古城村（2）。贞观七年（633年）州县皆废（3）。

注：
（1）《唐书》卷43上·地理7上·柳州龙城郡·龙城县：“武德四年置龙州，并置柳岭县。贞观七年州废，省柳岭，以龙城来属。”（中华书局，1975年，5册，1108页）。
（2）《嘉庆一统志》卷463·柳州府·古迹·柳岭废县：“在柳城县（治今柳城县南凤山镇）西。…旧志，今县北古清河入江处有古城村，即古县。”山川·柳江：“经柳城县西，合古清、洛俭二水与龙江会，曰合浦，环绕县南名潭江，亦名柳江。”（《四部丛刊续编》，商务印书馆，1934年，173册）。据此，古清河当今柳城县东南经沙铺镇至古城村入融江的河道，柳岭县当即今柳城县东南古城村。
