东合州（627-633年）治所和界线

贞观元年（627年），以南合州更名（1）。领海康、隋康、铁【木巴】、椹川四县。州治海康县，治所即今广东省海康县。辖境相当今广东遂溪县、海康县、徐闻县和湛江市五里山港以西地区及东山岛境域以及广西北海市涠洲岛（2）。二年改隋康为徐闻。贞观八年（634年），更名雷州（3）。

（1），《旧唐书》卷41?岭南道?雷州：“隋合浦郡之海康县。武德四年平萧铣，置南合州，领海康、隋康、铁杷、椹川四县。贞观元年改为东合州。二年改隋康为徐闻县。八年改东合州为雷州。天宝元年改为海康郡。乾元元年复为雷州也。”领海康、遂溪、徐闻三县。（北京，中华书局，1975年，5册，1759页）。
《舆地纪胜》合浦太守武德五年始降唐，改郡为州当在武德五年。
