隋开皇三年（583年），废江油郡、马盘郡、建阳郡，龙州辖县四：江油县、马盘县、平武县、方维县①。大业三年（607年）改为平武郡②。
①《北周地理志》卷3《剑南》龙州条，江油郡领江油县、平武县，马盘郡领马盘县，静龙郡领龙安县。《明一统志》卷70《夔州府》：“方维废县在府境，旧曰秦兴，置建阳郡。隋废郡，改曰方维县，属龙州”。
②《太平寰宇记》卷84《剑南东道3》龙州条：“西魏废帝二年定蜀，于此立龙州。隋大业初废州为平武郡。唐武德元年改为龙门郡，其年加西字。贞观元年改为龙州”。",
