隋大业三年（607年），改会州为汶山郡，废翼州，辖县十一：广阳县、北川县、汶川县、交川县、通化县、通轨县、左封县、平康县、翼水县、翼针县、江源县①。唐武德元年（618年）改为会州②。
①《元和郡县志》卷33《剑南道》茂州条：“周保定四年立汶州。隋开皇五年改为会州。大业三年罢会州为汶山郡。武徳三年改置南会州总管府。贞观八年改为茂州，以茂滋山为名”。《元和郡县志》卷33《剑南道》翼州条：“隋大业三年省州，改置和山镇，以翼水等三县属会州。武徳元年重置翼州”。
②《太平寰宇记》卷78茂州：“通化郡，今理汶山县。……梁普通三年置绳州，取桃关之路以绳为桥，因作州称。后周武帝改为汶州，取汶水为名，并置汶山郡。隋开皇五年改汶州为蜀州。六年又改会州，取西夷交会为名，炀帝初州废改置汶山郡。唐武德元年改为会州”。",
