唐天佑二年（905年），阳城县更名为濩泽县，仍属泽州，治所仍在今阳城县城①。五代唐同光元年（923年），更名为阳城县②。

阳城县：“泽置濩泽县，属河東郡。后汉为侯國。晋属平阳郡，后魏属安平郡，隋属长平郡，唐武徳元年于县置泽州，八年州移治以县属之。天宝元年改为阳城，天祐二年，朱全忠复曰濩泽，五代唐复曰阳城。”

阳城县，“天佑二年，更名濩泽，寻复为阳城。”

案：濩泽县复名阳城县年代失载，据《清一统志》载，与阳城同时改名的还有黎城、晋城等避讳“朱诚”的地名，并云“黎城县天佑二年改曰黎亭，五代唐复故”。据此考证，濩泽复名阳城亦应在五代唐。兹将“五代唐”确定为李存勖即帝位定国号唐，改元同光的923年。",
