五代唐同光元年（923年），濩泽县更名为阳城县，仍属泽州。治所在今阳城县城①。宋因之②。金天会六年（1128年），属南泽州，天德三年（1151年），属泽州。元光二年（1223年），升为勣州③。

《大清一统志》卷一百七?泽州府：
阳城县：“汉置濩泽县，属河东郡。后泽为侯国，晋属平阳郡，后魏属安平郡，隋属长平郡，唐武徳元年于县置泽州，八年州移治，以县属之。天宝元年改为阳城，天祐二年朱全忠复曰濩泽。”
案：濩泽县复名阳城县年代失载，《清一统志》载，唐天佑二年（905年），为避朱温父朱诚名讳，阳城与黎城、晋城等县同时更名。并载“黎城县天佑二年改曰黎亭，五代唐复故”。据此考证，濩泽县复名阳城县亦当在“五代唐”，兹将“五代唐”确定为李存勖即帝位，定国号唐，改元同光的923年。
