北魏太和元年（477年）置安定县，属河东郡①，西魏大统三年（537年）并入南解县②。治所在今永济县东约20公里虞乡镇③。

按，西魏安定县并入南解县的具体时间无考，据《周书》卷三十五?薛善传附敬珍传：“（西魏大统三年）齐神武已败，珍与祥邀之，多所克获。及李弼军至河东，珍与小白等率猗氏、南解、北解、安邑、温泉、虞乡等六县户十余万归附”。暂定在西魏大统三年（537年）。
