东魏天平元年（534年）设温泉县，属河东郡。治所在今临猗县临晋镇附近，北周武成元年（559年）废省。

注：
唐以前诸地理志书均未载温泉县，据《周书?薛善传敬珍附传》：“齐神武沙苑已败（537年），珍等率猗氏、南解、北解、安邑、温泉、虞乡等六县十余万户归附”。《太平寰宇记》蒲州总叙下云：“唐武德三年置温泉县，九年省温泉县”，废省入桑泉县。唐桑泉县，即今临猗县临晋镇。东魏温泉县设立时间无考，依标准化原则，确定为东魏天平元年（534年），属河东郡，治所当在今临晋镇附近，参《北周地理志》782页，中华书局1980年。另，温泉县废省时间无考，依标准化原则，确定为武成元年（559年）。",
