五代唐天佑四年（907）避朱全忠讳，改文城县为屈邑县①。治所在今吉县西北30公里文城镇。同光二年（924）复称文城县②③。

②《读史方舆纪要》吉州文城废县：“在州西北五十里。本西魏所置，属汾州。隋因之。唐属慈州。《旧唐书》：显庆三年，移县治仵城县东北文城村。天佑中，改曰屈邑。五代时，复曰文城。宋仍属慈州，熙宁五年省为镇。金因之，属吉乡县。”
