北魏太和十九年（495年），析介休县地置邬县，属太原郡①。治所仍在今介休县邬城店村。北齐天保七年（556年），省入平遥县②。

①《魏书》卷一百六上《地形志》二上第五?并州 太原郡，领县十：晋阳、祁、榆次、中都、邬、平遥、沾、受阳、长安、阳邑。邬，“二汉、晋属，后罢。太和十九年复。”（中华书局P2466，1974年。）
光绪《山西通志》卷二十四《府州厅县考二》?汾州府 介休县，“北魏太和八年，复置介休县，隶西河郡，邬县并中都县旧地入焉。十九年，复邬县，隶太原郡。”（中华书局P2206，1990年。）
②《北周地理志》卷九河北上 太原郡。平遥，“有旧置祁、邬二县，并北齐废。”又云：“邬，今山西介休县东北二十七里，……《清一统志》：汉置邬县，晋末废。后魏太和十九年复置。北齐时废。”（中华书局P866～867，1980年。）
按：邬县省废无确年，北齐天保七年（556年）全国州郡县大省并，邬县当废于此时。",
