金贞祐二年（1214年）四月，灵丘县升为成州①。仍治今大同市灵丘县城。元太宗六年（1247年）更名灵丘县②。

注：
①《金史》卷二十四《志》第五?地理上?西京路 蔚州，下，忠顺军节度使。辽尝更为武安军，寻复。县五：灵仙、广灵、灵丘、定安、飞狐。灵丘，“晋县，贞祐二年四月升为成州，四年割为代州支郡”。（中华书局P564，1975年。）
《大清一统志》卷一百九?大同府灵邱县，“汉置灵邱县，属代郡。后汉省。后魏复置。……贞观五年破突厥，复故地还治灵邱县。……辽及金初因之。贞祐二年升为成州，四年为代州支郡。元复曰灵邱县，属蔚州。明因之。”
②《元史》卷五十八《志》第十?地理一?大同路 蔚州，下。唐改为安边郡，又改为兴唐县，又仍为蔚州。辽为忠顺军。金仍为蔚州。元至元二年，省州为灵仙县，隶弘州。其年，复改为蔚州，隶宣德府。领五县：　　灵仙，下。灵丘，下。飞孤，下。定安，下。广灵。下。（中华书局P1363，1976年。）
按：成州更名灵丘时间不确，史书只言：“元复曰灵邱县”。今据《元史?地理志》云：“太宗六年甲午，灭金，得中原州郡”。故确定是年为更名年代。",
