北齐以*城县改名。⑴治所即今河北藁城县驻地。为巨鹿郡治。开皇初郡废，似属定州。⑵开皇十年（590年）为廉州治。大业十八年（598年）改名稾城县。

按：因无具体时间，暂作天保七年改。
⑵按：《隋志》未言开皇三年废巨鹿郡后，高城县隶属于何州。此前开鹿郡隶属于定州，开皇十年为廉州治，大业后又属赵州（赵郡）。从地理环境看，高城县在开皇三年时属定州、赵州均有可能。现暂将归入定州，待详考。",
