隋开皇三年（583年）以州领县，并迁治真定县（今河北石家庄市东北东古城、西古城间）。⑴辖真定、行唐、井陉、新市、灵寿等县。开皇十六年（596年）析井陉县置井州，辖境缩小。⑵

⑴按：北周恒州治恒山郡（治所在今河北正定县治正定镇）。《隋书?地理志》恒山郡首县为真定县（第3册，第856页），此真定县治所在东垣故城，在今河北石家庄市东北东古城、西古城间，故恒州治所当在开皇三年有迁徙。参见“恒州（561-582）”条相关说明。
