明洪武元年（1368年）十二月改东安州置。⑴治所在今河北廊坊市西旧州。属北平府。洪武三年（1370年）迁治（今廊坊市东南旧安次）。⑵

⑴明《太祖实录》卷37，洪武元年十二月丙戌：“改顺州为顺义县，东安、固安及河南辉州、淇州俱为县，仍改檀州为密云、怀柔二县。时，廷议以各处州治有连辖数县，有不辖县而亲隶民事者，于体未善。诏从其议。于是凡州之不辖县治而改为县者六十有五。”（《明实录》，第？册，）
