蒙古太祖十六年（1221年）升蓨县置。⑴治所即今河北景县驻地景州镇。辖枣乡县。⑵后复为蓨县。⑶

⑴《元史》卷119《木华黎传》：太祖十六年（辛巳年），“郑遵亦以枣乡、蓨县降，升为完州，以遵为节度使，行元帅府事。”（第10册，第2933页）
⑵按：枣乡县，《元史》中仅出现一次。疑为枣强县之误。又：置元州时，蓨县是否废除，存疑。
⑶因无具体时间，暂以观州改名为景州的至元二年为参考，此年废元州，复置蓨县，为景州治。",
