清雍正三年九月甲子（1725年11月4日）升天津州为直隶州，以青、静海二县往属，⑴辖境缩小。雍正七年闰七月辛卯（1729年9月11日）析沧州为直隶州，以东光、南皮、庆云、盐山四县往属，⑵辖境缩小。

⑴《世宗实录》卷36雍正三年9月甲子：“升直隶河间府所属天津州为直隶州，管辖武清、青县、静海三县。从长芦盐政御史莽鹄立请也。”（中华书局，《清实录》，第7册，第545页）
