蒙古至元二年（1265年）改河间府置。⑴治河间县（今河北河间县）。辖沧州、景州、清州、献州、莫州、陵州等6州及河间、肃宁等县。太宗七年（1235年），临邑、齐东、宁津等县来属，⑵辖境扩大。

⑴《元史》卷58《地理一》：“元至元二年，置河间路总管府。”（中华书局，第5册，第1363页）
⑵按：《元史》卷58《地理一》：“临邑，下。本属济南府，太宗七年，割属河间。宪宗三年，还属济南。至元二年，复属河间。”（中华书局，第5册，第1364页）齐东、宁津两县下只言“宪宗三年，隶济南路。至元二年，还属河间。”疑这两个县是与临邑县同时或先后来属河间路，至宪宗三年才一起划属济南路，故暂作太宗七年一起来属。",
