约隋末置。⑴治所在今河北鸡泽县驻地鸡泽镇东南贯庄。⑵约唐武德四年（621年）废。

⑴《新唐书》卷111《程务挺传》：“父名振，隋大业末，仕窦建德为普乐令，盗竟不迹境。”（第13册，第4146页）
《旧唐书》同。
《新唐书》卷85《窦建德传》：大业“十四年五月，更号夏王，建元丁丑，署官属，分治郡县。”（第12册，第3698页）
《新唐书》卷39《地理三》：“有普乐县，武德初置，后陷窦建德，遂废。”（第4册，第1014页）
按：因河间地区在隋末属窦建德势力范围，当从《传》，作大业十四年（618年）置，621年（唐武德四年，窦建德五凤四年）窦建德败后废。
⑵嘉庆《清一统志》卷33《广平府二》：“普乐故城，在鸡泽县东南。……旧《志》：普乐城在鸡泽县东南二十五里。”（第11册，第2页）
