隋开皇十六年（596年）以匡城县改名。⑴治所即今河南长垣县驻地西南十里“司家坡”。⑵隋属兖州、东郡。唐武德元年（618年）属滑州，天宝元年（742年）属灵昌郡，乾元元年（758年）属滑州。⑶五代梁开平元年（907年）改名长垣县。⑷
