蒙古太宗十三年（1241年）改属顺天路。至元二年（1265年），顺天路新城县来属，辖境扩大。元至元十年（1273年）属大都路。二十三年（1286年）属保定路。领归信、容城、新城3县。⑴明洪武六年（1373年），州属新城县往属保定府。⑵洪武七年四月（1374年5月）废容城县入州。寻降州为雄县。⑶
