金天会七年（1129年）升安肃军置。⑴治安肃县（今河北徐水县驻地安肃镇）。⑵隶河北东路。天德三年（1151年）改为安肃州。⑶

⑵嘉庆《清一统志》卷12《保定府一》：“安肃县……宋太平兴国六年，以遂城县置威虏军，又以梁门口砦置静戎军，并置静戎县为治。景德元年改威虏为广信、静戎为安肃。宣和七年，废安肃军为安肃县，寻复为军，仍治安肃县。金天会七年改广信军为遂州、安肃军为徐州，俱属河北东路。天德三年改徐州为安肃州徐郡军。……泰和四年废遂州为遂城县，属保州。贞祐二年复置遂州。元至元二年省遂州入安肃州，后复置遂州，俱属保定路。明初省遂州入安肃州。洪武六年降安肃州为县，属保定府。本朝因之。”（第6册，第3页）
