西晋时迁治。⑴治所在今河北阜城县东古城村。⑵属勃海郡。⑶

⑴乾隆《清一统志》卷15河间府：“阜城故城，在今阜城县东。汉置，后汉建武十三年封王梁为侯国。《旧唐书?地理志》：阜城故城在今县东二十里，今城隋筑。《太平寰宇记》：在今县东二十二里，齐天保七年移今治。按：《前汉志》阜城县属勃海郡，别有昌成县属信都国。《续汉志》谓阜城即故昌城。《宋书?州郡志》疑二城非一而无定说。《水经》：漳水自下博又东北过阜城县北，又东北至昌亭。郦注：昌亭即信都东昌县，勃海之阜城又在其东，经叙阜城于下博之下昌亭之上，故知非故县也。参考诸说，盖后汉省勃海阜城，而移其名于信都之昌城，且改属安平。至晋时，又移还故治耳。《魏书?地形志》阜城县注前汉属勃海，后汉属安平，晋还属渤海，竟混为一城，误。又《名胜志》：刘豫尝兼取阜城、昌城之名，改县号曰阜昌郡，并改元曰阜昌。说近是，而志俱不载。”
