西汉宣帝神爵四年（公元前58年）封。⑴治所在今河北宁晋县凤凰镇东历城。⑵属巨鹿郡。新莽时国除，改为历聚县。⑶

⑵嘉庆《清一统志》卷51：“厯鄉故城，在寧晉縣東二十五里。漢置縣，屬鉅鹿郡。後漢省。《魏書?地形志》：廮遙縣有厯城。《明統志》：厯城乃小堡城下藪澤，周迴百餘里，中有魚、藕、菱、芡之利，每嵗饑，土人賴以全活者甚衆。金末，王義率衆保此。”（第10页A）
