汉高祖十一年（前196年）封。⑴治所在今河北隆尧县隆尧镇东旧城。⑵属巨鹿郡。武帝元鼎二年（前115年）除，⑶改为县。

⑵嘉庆《清一统志》卷52：“广阿故城，在隆平县东。汉髙祖尝封功臣任敖为侯邑。后汉更始二年，光武抜广阿，舍城楼，与邓禹披阅天下舆图，即此。县寻废。晋太元九年，慕容垂以陈留王绍行冀州刺史，屯广阿。后魏太常三年，诏叔孙建镇广阿，寻复置县。隋改象城，又改大陆。唐改昭庆。宋又改隆平。《元和志》：昭庆县，东北至赵州九十里，本汉广阿县也。《宋史?河渠志》：大观二年，以隆平下湿，迁于髙地。《县志》：故城在今县东十二里，俗呼旧城村。”（第9页A）
