     明洪武七年（1376年）降东平府为东平州，省附郭须城县入，属济宁州，十八年（1385年）改属兖州府，领汶上、东阿、平阴、阳谷、寿张五县（1）。治今东平县（2）。清雍正七年（1730年）升为直隶州（3）。
