隋开皇582年，白狗县改名淮川县。① 

注：
① 《大清一统志》卷二百十六：“白狗故城，在正阳县东南。梁置西淮州，又置淮川郡，治白狗堆，为北面重镇。东魏天平二年，豫州刺史尧雄攻白狗堆，陷其城，擒北平太守苟元广是也。北齐废州，置齐兴郡，旋又废为白狗县。隋开皇初，改曰淮川。大业初，省入真阳。唐武德四年，复置淮川县，属息州。贞观初，仍废入真阳。唐书，李愬禆将阎士荣下白狗栅，即白狗城也。寰宇记，白狗城，在县西南七十里。”（《续修四部丛刊》，上海：商务印书馆，1934年。）",
