北宋元祐元年（1086年）析管城复置荥泽阳县，属郑州（1），金不改（2），元至元二年（1265年）改属开封府，约二十五年（1288年）属汴梁路（3），明洪武元年（1368年）属开封府郑州，成化十五年（1479年）自今河南郑州市西北古荥镇迁治故址南（4）。
