元至元八年（1271年）析睢阳复置，属归德府（1）；明洪武元年（1368年）改为夏邑（2）。即今河南夏邑（3）。

注：
（1）《元史》卷59《地理志二》：河南江北行省归德府，至元二年，以虞城、砀山二县，割属济宁府；又并谷熟入睢阳、酇县入永州，降永州为永城县，与宁陵、下邑隶本府。（北京，中华书局，1976年，5册，1407-9页）《大明清类天文分野之书》卷22：归德州夏邑县，元至元三年并入睢阳，八年复置此县。（复旦大学藏本）按：《元史?地理志》记载比较笼统，《明分野书》成书于洪武十七年（1384），上距至元仅百年余，并记有具体年代，当有档案根据，今从之。
（2）元《圣朝混一方舆胜览》卷中：归德府下作夏邑。（《北京图书馆古籍珍本丛刊》，22册）《大明清类天文分野之书》卷22：归德州夏邑县，金，“下”易为“夏”。明嘉靖《夏邑县志》卷1《地理志?沿革》同。（上海古籍书店，《天一阁藏明代方志选刊》，48册）《明史》卷42《地理志三》：河南归德府“洪武元年五月降为州，属开封府。嘉靖二十四年六月升为府。”夏邑“元曰下邑，洪武初，更名。”（北京，中华书局，1974年，4册，984页）按：《明分野之书》、嘉靖县志，金“下”易“夏”，并非无据，元代《方舆胜览》已作夏邑，但金、元志均为下邑，《方舆胜览》为坊间之书，疑夏邑原为民间习称，明代始正式改名，今从《明志》明初改，姑作洪武元年。
