南齐高帝建元元年（479年），兴古郡移治西中县（1）。领西中、漏卧、宛暖、律高、句町、南兴六县（2）。梁太清三年（549年）废（3）。
按：暂定位于文山县城。


    （1）《南齐书》卷15《州郡下》兴古郡首县为西中县（北京，中华书局，1972年，第一册，第305页），则其当为郡治。史为乐主编《中国历史地名大辞典》谓：西中县，“南齐改西安县置，为兴古郡治”。（中国社会科学出版社，2005年3月第一版，上册，第917页）。其立为郡治时间，史无明载，姑定于南齐建立之建元元年（479年）。
    （2）移治之前，郡所领为漏卧、宛暖、律高、句町、西安、南兴六县。《南齐书》卷15《州郡下》兴古郡无西安县而有西中县，其余皆无变化。史为乐主编《中国历史地名大辞典》谓：西中县，“南齐改西安县置”。（中国社会科学出版社，2005年3月第一版，上册，第917页）。所说当是。移治与改名很可能在同一时间。
    （3）《梁书》无地理志，洪齮孙撰《补梁书疆域志》，然宁州所领付诸缺如。《梁书》卷    《徐文盛传》载：梁大同（535——545年）末年，徐文盛“持节都督宁州刺史”，太清二年（548年）其离职赴荆州。（版本）。则此时梁仍统辖宁州，所属兴古郡当仍存。此后即无南朝政权统辖宁州的记载，原所领郡县大多数当废弛。",
