南齐高帝建元元年（479年），以原朱提郡南部改置南朱提郡（1），领朱提、汉阳、堂狼、南秦四县，治朱提县（2）。梁太清三年（549年）废（3）。


    （1）南齐书》卷15《州郡志》宁州：“南朱提郡：朱提，汉阳，堂狼，南秦”。（版本）。郡所领四县原属朱提郡，而又无原朱提郡所属之临利县，且同书宁州所辖又有北朱提郡，故其显然是以原朱提郡南部改置而来。改置时间史无明载，姑定为南齐始建之时，即公元479年。
    （2）《南齐书》卷15《州郡志》宁州：“南朱提郡：朱提，汉阳，堂狼，南秦”。（版本）。据此，南朱提郡领四县，治朱提县。
    （3）《梁书》无地理志，洪齮孙撰《补梁书疆域志》，然宁州所领付诸缺如。《梁书》卷    《徐文盛传》载：梁大同（535——545年）末年，徐文盛“持节都督宁州刺史”，太清二年（548年）其离职赴荆州。（版本）。则此时梁仍统辖宁州，所属南朱提郡当仍存。此后即无南朝政权统辖宁州的记载，原所领郡县当废弛。",
