保定二年（562），改永乐县为石泉县，析置魏宁县。（1）隋属西城郡。（2）唐属金州。（3）

注：
（1）、《太平寰宇記》：“石泉縣，在金州西北三百里。本漢西城縣地。梁武帝立晉昌郡，治王水口。夏侯道遷以梁州。入魏，移晉昌郡於所領長樂縣東陽村。後值黄衆保叛，移晉昌郡於舊理，因改曰魏昌。周武成三年，郡又移理東陽川，仍併所領諸縣為水樂一縣，理於今縣南一里舊長樂所理處。續改名石泉，以縣北石泉為名。保定三年，廢魏昌郡，移石泉縣理郡城，即今縣理是也。唐聖厯元年，改為武安縣。神龍初，復舊。大厯六年，以户口散落，併入漢陰縣。永貞元年，金州刺史姜公輔奏：‘縣地山谷重阻一千餘里，來往輸納民不為便，請於舊所復置。’詔從之。王水口在縣西八十里”（金陵书局，光绪八年刊本，
    按：根据上述记载，周武成王三年（保定元年）魏昌郡移理东阳川并设立水乐县；保定三年郡废，石泉县移理魏昌郡治。水乐县改为石泉县的时间在此两历史事件之间，故暂定为保定二年。
（2）、《隋书》卷29志24地理上：西城郡“石泉旧曰永乐，置晋昌郡。西魏改郡曰魏昌，寻改永乐曰石泉，析置魏宁县。后周省魏昌郡入中城郡，又省魏宁县入石泉县。”（中华书局，1973年，第818页）。
