西魏大统元年（535），又改旬阳为洵陽，兼置洵陽郡。（1）开皇三年（583），洵阳郡废，县属西城郡。（2）

（1）、《读史方舆纪要》卷56陕西五：旬阳县“西魏始置洵阳郡，改旬为洵。隋初郡废，属金州。”（中华书局，2005年，第2712页）。
   《嘉庆重修一统志》：“洵陽縣……西魏又曰洵陽，兼置洵陽郡。隋開皇初郡廢，屬西城郡。”（《四部丛刊续编》史部，第15册）。
按：西魏改旬阳为洵阳的时间无考，暂定为其开国的大统元年。
（2）、《隋书》卷29志24地理上：西城郡 “洵阳旧置洵阳郡，开皇初郡废。”（中华书局，1973年，第818页）。
   按：洵阳郡被废的具体年代不详，但是开皇三年隋文帝杨坚废除诸郡（“高祖受终，惟新朝政，开皇三年，遂废诸郡。”《隋书》卷29志24地理上，中华书局，1973年，第806页），故定洵阳郡在该年被废。",
