本凤县地，乾隆三十年（1765），析置抚民厅，三十九年（1774）改置同知。（1）嘉庆十三年（1808），移驻太平岭，属汉中府。（2）

注：
（1）、《清史稿》卷63志38地理十：汉中府“留坝厅，冲，繁，难。府西北百四十里。本凤县地，明设巡司。乾隆十五年，移汉中捕盗通判驻之。三十年析置，职抚民。三十九年改置同知。”（中华书局，1977年，第2100页）。
（2）、《嘉庆重修一统志》：汉中府留坝厅“本朝乾隆三十八年，分鳳縣地設撫民通判。四十年，改設留壩廳同知。嘉慶十三年，移駐太平嶺，屬漢中府。”（《四部丛刊续编》，册15）。",
