大业九年（613），县治移于渭水北留谷城。（1）武德元年（618），属岐州。天宝元年（742年），属扶风郡。（2）

注：
（1）、《元和志》：“寶雞縣，東北至鳯翔府九十里。本秦陳倉縣，秦文公所築，因山以為名。大業九年，移於今理。乾元元年，改為寶雞，以昔有陳寶雞鳴之瑞故名之。又曰，陳倉有上下二城相連，上城是秦文公築，下城是都昭築。”（中华书局，
   《寰宇記》：“周地圖記云陳倉縣，晉末廢，苻姚時於縣界置苑川縣。後魏大統十六年，移苑川縣入漢陳倉故城，復為陳倉縣，即今縣東二十里古城是也，屬武都郡。後周天和三年，又於此置顯州。建德三年，州廢。隋開皇十八年，又置屬岐州。大業十年，移縣理於渭水北留谷城，今縣是也。”（中华书局，
（2）、《旧唐书》卷38志18地理一：“凤翔府 隋扶风郡。武德元年，改为岐州，领雍、陈仓、郿、虢、岐山、凤泉等六县。又割雍等三县，置围川县。其年，割围川属稷州。贞观元年，废稷州，以围川及鄜州之麟游、普润等三县来属。七年，又置岐阳县。八年，改围川为扶风县，省虢县及凤泉。天授二年，复置虢县。天宝元年，改为扶风郡。至德二年，肃宗自顺化郡幸扶风郡，置天兴县，改雍县为凤翔县，并治郭下。初以陈仓为凤翔县，乃改为宝鸡县。其年十月，克复两京。十二月，置凤翔府，号为西京，与成都、京兆、、河南、太原为五京。宝应元年，并凤翔县入天兴县，后罢京名。旧领县八，户二万七千二百八十二，口十万八千三百二十四。天宝领县九，户五万八千四百八十六，口三十八万四百六十三。在京师西三百一十五里，去东都一千一百七十里。……宝鸡，隋陈仓县。至德二年二月十五日，改为凤翔县，其月十八日，改为宝鸡。”（中华书局，1975年，第1402—1403页）。",
