武德二年（619），分高陵置鹿苑，属雍州。贞观元年（627），废鹿苑入高陵。（1）县治位于今高陵县马家湾乡西营村南塬上唐鹿苑县城遗址。（2）

（1）、《旧唐书》卷38志18地理一：“京兆府……武德元年，改为雍州。改大兴为万年，万年为栎阳，分栎阳置平陵，以渭南县属华州，分醴泉置温秀县，分云阳置石门县。二年，分万年置芷阳县，分蓝田置白鹿县，分泾阳、始平置咸阳县，分高陵置鹿苑县，改平陵为粟邑县，分醴泉置好畤县，分盩厔置终南县。……贞观元年，废鹿苑入高陵县，废宁人、玉山入蓝田县，改云阳为池阳县，改华池为三原县。废稷州，以武功、好畤、盩厔三县来属。”（中华书局，1975年，第1395页）。
