西汉景帝二年（前155）置北徵县后改名徵县，属左冯翊，①治今蒲城县西头乡避难堡村。②

注：
①《汉书》卷28 上?地理志第八上：左冯翊，……县二十四，徵，莽曰泛爱。师古曰：“徵音惩，即今之澄城县是也。《左传》所云‘取北徵’，谓此地耳，而杜元凯未详其处也。” （中华书局，1962 年，6 册，1545 页）《太平寰宇记》卷28?关西道四：同州?澄城县，本汉徵县地，属左冯翊。《嘉庆一统志》卷243?同州府一：澄城县，春秋晋征邑。汉置征县，属左冯翊。（《四部丛刊续编》，商务印书馆，1934 年，15 册）《澄城县志》作“景帝二年设北徵县，后改名徵县”，姑从之。（陕西人民出版社，1991 年，2 页）
