隋开皇十六年（596），郃阳县迁治至今合阳县城，①属冯翊郡。唐武德元年（618 ）属同州。武德三年（621 ）属西韩州。贞观八年（634）属同州。天宝元年（742）属冯翊郡。乾元元年（758）属同州。②五代梁（907）属河中府。③后唐天成元年（926）属同州。④金贞佑三年（1215 ）属祯州。⑤元至元元年（1264）属同州，二年（1265 ）属祯州，六年（1269）属同州。⑥明因之。⑦清雍正三年（1725 ）属同州直隶州，十三年（1735 ）属同州府。⑧
