元弃新会州，迁治于西宁县。至元七年（1270 年），并西宁县于州①。属巩昌等处统帅府②。明洪武三年（1370 年）省会州③。治所在今甘肃会宁县④。
①孛兰肸、岳铉等修《大元大一统志》（下）卷586 会州建置沿革条：“宋元符二年复之，崇宁三年置敷川县。金大定二十二年十二月置保川县，而旧县名并废矣。明年陷于河西，侨治州之西南一百里会川城，名新会州。天兴三年金亡，国朝开辟疆土，而此州归附，遂弃新会州，迁于所隶西宁县，至元七年并县入州。”。国立中央图书馆出版1985 年版，第二—九—三五O——三五一页。清?陈之骥编《靖远县志》卷一《建置沿革》：“元初弃新会州，迁于所隶西宁县。至元七年并县入州，为会州。”，《中国方志丛书》华北地方第551 号，成文出版社1976 年影印，第75 页。
