金大定十三年（1173 年）侨治会川城，属临洮路。天兴三年（1234 年）陷于蒙古①。治所在今甘肃靖远县西南百里②。
①孛兰肸、岳铉等修《大元大一统志》（下）卷586 会州建置沿革条：“宋元符二年复之，崇宁三年置敷川县。金大定二十二年十二月置保川县，而旧县名并废矣。明年陷于河西，侨治州之西南一百里会川城，名新会州。天兴三年金亡，国朝开辟疆土，而此州归附，遂弃新会州，迁于所隶西宁县，至元七年并县入州。”。国立中央图书馆出版1985 年版，第二—九—三五O——三五一页。清?陈之骥编《靖远县志》卷一《建置沿革》：“大定十二年改敷文为保川县，明年陷于西夏，侨治州西南百里之会川城，名新会州。元光二年复旧会州。至天兴初并陷于元”，《中国方志丛书》华北地方第551 号，成文出版社1976 年影印，第75 页。
