唐武德元年（618 年）复置，属岷州①。唐先天元年改为祐川县②。治所在今甘肃省岷县东五十里③。
①《舆地广记》卷15《陕西秦凤路上》岷州条：“祐川县，本临洮县地。二汉、晋属陇西郡。西魏置溢乐县及同和郡。隋改溢乐为临洮。唐武徳元年复为溢乐，置岷州，又置基城县。先天元年改基城为祐川。没蕃后并废。皇朝崇宁四年复置祐川”，四川大学出版社2003 年版，第437 页。
