金大定二十二年升甘泉堡为西宁县。贞祐四年升为西宁州①。治所在今甘肃会宁县②。
①孛兰肸、岳铉等修《大元大一统志》（下）卷586 废西宁县条：“本秦州甘泉堡。金大定二十二年十二月升为县，有司言延安府已有甘泉县，改为西宁县。贞祐四年十月升为州，以甘谷、鸡川、治平三县隶。治平本德顺之一寨也，金末兵乱并废。国朝开辟疆土，以西宁仍为县，属会州，至元七年并县入本州”国立中央图书馆出版1985 年版，第二—九—三五O——三五八页。
