元至元十四年（1277年）改郧乡县置。属均州。（1）治所即今湖北郧县。（2）明成化十二年（1476年）为郧阳府治。（3）清不改。（4）1912年1月裁府留县，改属湖北省。（5）

（1）《元史》卷59《地理志二•河南江北等处行中书省》襄阳路均州：“唐初为均州，又为武当郡。宋为武当军。元至元十二年，江陵归附，割隶湖北道宣慰司。十九年，还属襄阳。又在所领郧县下曰：“至元十四年复置。”（北京，中华书局，1976年，5册，1409页）顾祖禹《读史方舆纪要》卷79《湖广五•郧阳府》郧县：晋立郧乡县，宋属均州，“景定以后，县侨徙不一。元至元十四年复置郧县。”（北京，中华书局，1955年，4册，3398页）按：当作至元十四年（1277年）改名郧县。属均州。
