唐开元十八年（730年）改荆山县置。（1）治所即在今湖北南漳县。（2）属襄州。天宝元年（742年）属襄阳郡，乾元元年（758年）复属襄州。（3）五代不改。（4）北宋宣和元年（1119年）属襄阳府。（5）南宋绍兴五年（1135年）迁治中庐镇。（6）
