  "source note" : "应城县（621年——807年）（钱林书编写）<br><br>唐武德四年（621年）改应阳县置。属安州。（1）治所即今湖北应城市。（2）天宝元年（742年）属安陆郡，乾元元年（758年）复属安州。（3）元和三年（808年）废入云梦县。（4）<br><br>注：<br>（1）《旧唐书》卷40《地理志三·淮南道》安州：“隋安陆郡。武德四年（621年），平王世充，改为安州。领安陆、云梦、应阳……八县。”而在应城县下曰：“隋改为应阳。武德四年，复为应城。”（北京，中华书局，1975年，5册，1581、1582页）又在《新唐书》卷41《地理志五·`淮南道》安州应城县下曰：“本应阳，武德四年更名。”（北京，中华书局，1975年，4册，1055页）当作武德四年改名应城县，属安州。<br>（2）清《嘉庆一统志》卷343《德安府·建置沿革》应城县谓：“汉安陆县地，南北朝宋置应城县，属安陆郡，齐因之。西魏兼置城阳郡，隋开皇初郡废，大业初改县曰应阳，仍属安陆郡。唐武德四年复曰应城，属安州，元和二年省入云梦，太和二年复置。五代梁开平元年又改曰应阳。唐同光元年复故。宋属德安府，元因之。明洪武十年并入云梦县，十三年复置，本朝因之。”（《四部丛刊续编》，商务印书馆，1934年，127册，2页）按：从置县至明，县治未见迁徙。据牛汉平《清代政区沿革综表·湖北省总表》，德安府应城县治，即今湖北应城县（今为市）。（北京，中国地图出版社，1990年，236页）当应城县历代所治，即在今湖北应城市。<br>（3）《旧唐书》卷40《地理志三·淮南道》安州：隋安陆郡。武德四年（621年），平王世充，改为安州。天宝元年（742年）改为安陆郡，乾元元年（758年）复为安州。治安陆县，领有应城县。（北京，中华书局，1975年，5册，1581、1582页）<br>（4）《新唐书》卷41《地理志五·`淮南道》安州应城县下曰：“本应阳，武德四年更名。元和三年（808年）省入云梦。”（北京，中华书局，1975年，4册，1055页）",
