①《明史》卷40《地理志一》：“亳州，元属归德府。洪武初以州治谯县省入，寻降为县，属归德州。六年属颍州。弘治九年十月复升为州。”（第4册，915页）明初何年省诊断县入州，并降为县，不详。《明一统志》卷7：“亳县，……本朝降为县。”（上册，128页）不言洪武某年，则今作洪武元年（1368年）即降为县。
