①《新唐书》卷40《地理志三》：“舒州怀宁县“武德五年析置皖城、安乐、梅城、皖阳四县，是年省安乐，七年省皖城、梅城、皖阳。”（第4册，1054页）
②《清嘉庆一统志》第36册，卷110《安庆府二古迹》：“梅城故城，在潜山县北。”《太平寰宇记》卷125舒州怀宁县：“废梅县城，在怀宁县北七十里。武德五年王宏让置，在古龙鸣城内。其城齐天统三年行台卢潜屯兵于此。于时龙鸣城内，潜以为不祥，移军在外，乃号龙鸣城，至七年使人萧俨以兵数少，割入怀宁，遂省。”（光绪金陵书局本）按：北宋初怀宁县治即今安徽潜山县（梅城镇）治，其北七十里，今姑以“龙关”当之。（见《安徽省地图册》中国地图出版社，2002年）",
