清咸丰十一年（1861年）迁沛县于今县（1）。属徐州府（2）。1912年废徐州府，以县属江苏省（3）。
注：
（1）《沛县志》卷5：“咸丰十年（1860年）沛旧治南大桥寨成，十一年遂移至大桥寨，于南面筑土垣，盖就民寨筑也，居民以去旧城近，故仍呼为旧城也。”移治大桥寨，即今沛县。
